Jakarta — Angola expressed on Wednesday in Jakarta, Indonesia, its support for the creation of an Asia/Africa Centre, aiming for the promotion of investments in the two countries.
This support was expressed by the Vice-president of the Republic, Manuel Domingos Vicente, when addressing the Asia/Africa Summit, taking place until Thursday in Jakarta.
However, Manuel Vicente said that Angola considers very important and urgent to discuss thoroughly about it.
He added that the fact that the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) to represent two thirds of the UN Member States and more than 55 per cent of the world population, obliges these nations to address the most pressing issues of the international politics, mainly the ones related to reform of the international organizations, such as World Bank, IMF and UNSC, so as to ensure the reinforcement of the South-South cooperation to promote world peace and prosperity.
The Asia – Africa Summit, taking place until Thursday, under the theme “Strengthening the cooperation south-south to promote world peace and prosperity,” aims at marking the 60th anniversary of the Bandung Conference and the 10th anniversary of the strategic partnership between the two continents.
