Republic Bank Ghana joins hand with Vodafone Ghana to provide mobile cash services

In addition to fund transfer and bill payments, Republic Bank of Ghana has also sought to extend its savings and loans products on the Vodacash platform.

The renowned commercial bank in Ghana, Republic Bank Ghana has joined hand with Vodafone Ghana for the purpose of delivering mobile money cash services.

Republic Bank Ghana can now, with this exclusive association, hold on to funds generated from Vodacash transactions as deposits. It also has the opportunity to offer other products and services through the Vodacash platform.

“The bank recognises the convenience of Vodafone Cash as an alternative means for the safe and secure transfer of money, hence the partnership with Vodafone. We at Republic Bank believe that taking our services closer to our customers goes beyond opening physical branches. It extends to providing a seamless means by which our customers can send and receive money in a safe and secure manner. As a result, we are very excited about the launch of our Vodafone Cash service,” Anthony Jordan, the Managing Director of Republic Bank Ghana said in the capital city Accra while announcing the partnership, as reported by Graphic Online.

According to him, in addition to fund transfer and bill payments, Republic Bank of Ghana has also sought to extend its savings and loans products on the Vodacash platform. As the bank has nine branches in the cocoa-growing areas of the country’s western part, it aims to make use of Vodacash system to support the cocoa farmers.
