Asufufu, (B/A), Aug 27, GNA – The Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB) Sunyani branch has constructed a mechanised a borehole estimated at GH¢ 15,000 to provide potable drinking water for residents, an emerging settlement in the Sunyani Municipality.
In addition, the bank has also built six-unit classroom block costing GH¢ 25,000 for the Bomaa local Roman Catholic Primary and Junior High School in the Tano North Municipality of the Brong-Ahafo Region.
The projects, according to the bank formed part of their corporate social responsibility programme to give back to society, as the bank celebrated her 65th anniversary.
Mr Dominic Cobbinah, the Sunyani Area Manager of the GCB told Journalists during the inauguration of the borehole that the bank would partner the various Municipal and District Assemblies to ensure that the needs of the people were met.
He advised the people to ensure proper maintenance of the facility to benefit generations yet unborn.
Mrs Evelyn Ama Kumi Richardson, the Sunyani Municipal Chief Executive expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the bank and she was optimistic that other corporate institutions would emulate.
Mr Oliver Betia, a resident thanked the bank for the facility and assured that the community would put it into good use and ensure proper maintenance.
