The Mining Department of AngloGold Ashanti Iduapriem Mine Limited has donated one hundred pieces of conference chairs worth GHC 10,000 to Fiaseman Senior High Secondary School in the Tarkwa-Nsuaem municipality.

The donation was to assist the school furnish its newly constructed staff common room.

Handing over the items, Senior Manager of Mining at Iduapriem mine, Mr Stephen Asante Yamoah, said the donation was to motivate teachers to continue in their efforts to enhance the academic performance of students in the municipality.

He said AngloGold Ashanti wants communities in which it operates to be better off, adding that, “as employees we believe we have a role to play in this cause, and together we can create a sustainable future of shared value with all stakeholders”.

Mr Yamoah called on the students to attend to their studies to enable them to become responsible adults and agents of change in their society.

He assured the mining giant’s host communities that Iduapriem employees would continue to support them to promote teaching and learning.
