Kobby Mensah blasts Ecobank Ghana for allowing fraudsters to steal huge monies from his account

Senior Lecturer at the University of Ghana Business School, Dr. Kobby Mensah Political marketing strategist and Senior Lecturer at the University of Ghana Business School, Dr Kobby Mensah has lashed out at commercial bank operaters, Ecobank Ghana Ltd., over what he describes as negligence in dealing with issues regarding his bank account.

Mr. Kobby Mensah took to twitter Monday morning to narrate how the bank allowed for fraudsters to ‘steal’ a sum of GHc 4,000 from his account.

Describing managers of the bank as irresponsible, Mr. Mensah noted that they sent him a text in the morning subsequently to say they blocked his account.

“ECOBANK@GroupEcobank is officially the most irresponsible and lousy security bank ever dealt with.”

“You allowed fraudsters from Atlanta and Belgium to take about GHS4000 from my account at 2am when I was asleep, only to send me a text in the morning to say you have blocked my account.”

According to him, efforts to get the bank to correct the situation appears to have failed; they appear to be the least bothered. Instead, he says, they have chosen to blame American multinational financial services corporation, Visa Inc. for being responsible for the theft.

“For two weeks, I have given you guys the opportunity to redeem yourself but it looks like you don’t care #Ecobanksecurityiscrap #Ecobankisirresponsible and you always claim @Visa is responsible for the theft. Visa is a tweet away to respond @GroupEcobank @EcobankGhanaLtd.”
