Ailing Uchumi Tops The NSE On Wednesday, Express Tails

Uchumi Supermarket was the top gainer of the day on Wednesday at the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) with 3.13 percent at the price of 0.33 shillings per share followed by Total Kenya with 2.04 percent at the price of 25 shillings per share.

East African Breweries was the third gainer of the day with 1.76 percent at the price of 159.25 shillings per share. The Barclays NewGold ETF gained 1.66 percent at the price of 1,835 shillings per share while Flame Tree Group closed the to 5 gainers’ table with 1.31 percent at the price of 1.55 shillings per share.

The top loser of the day during the sessions on Wednesday was Express who shed off 9.89 percent at the price of 5.10 shillings per share.

WPP ScanGroup which was the top gainer on Tuesday was the second top loser on Wednesday with 9.28 percent at the price of 20.05 shillings per share.

Centum Investments Limited lost 7.03 percent at the price of 23.15 shillings per share followed by Sasini Tea and Coffee who shed off 6.43 percent at the price of 16.00 shillings per share. East African Cables closed the top 5 losers’ table with a loss of 5.50 percent at the price of 1.89 shillings per share.

Safaricom retained its position as the top mover of the day. The giant telecommunications company sold 18.69 million shares with a market capitalization of 1.12 trillion shillings.

KCB Group was the second top mover of the day with 3.06 million shares and a market capitalization of 109.90 billion shillings. BK Group moved 1.86 million shares while its market capitalization stood at 14.98 billion shillings.

WPP ScanGroup moved 1.72 million shares during the session at a market capitalization of 8.66 billion shillings followed by Equity Group with 1.21 million shares and a market capitalization of 123.59 billion shillings. More Articles From This Author
