Diamond Trust Bank Top Gainer As East African Cables Tails

Diamond Trust Bank was the top gainer of the day on Thursday at the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) with 6.56 percent at the price of 69.00 shillings per share.

Olympia Capital was the second top gainer with 4.91 percent at the price of 2.35 shillings per share followed by the giant telecommunications company, Safaricom who gained 4.78 percent at the price of 27.40 shillings per share.

HF Group gained 4.66 percent at the price of 3.82 shillings per share while Kenya Re-Insurance closed the top five gainers’ table with 4.09 percent at the price of 2.29 shillings per share.

East African Cables was the top loser on Thursday. The company shed off 9.38 percent at the price of 2.03 shillings per share followed by Flame Tree Group with 8.00 percent at the price of 1.38 shillings per share.

Nation Media Group and Stanlib Fahari Income-REIT lost 7.60 and 6.73 percent at the price of 1.38 and 9.24 shillings per share respectively.

Stanbic Holdings lost 6.65 percent at the price of 73.75 shillings per share.

The top mover was Equity Group, overtaking Safaricom that has been dominating the position. Equity Group sold 2.94 million shares at a market capitalization of 113.02 billion shillings.

Safaricom was the second top mover with 2.13 million shares at a market capitalization of 1.10 trillion shillings while ABSA Bank Kenya sold 1.23 million shares at a market capitalization of 46.93 billion shillings.

Kenya Power and Lighting Company sold 857,000 shares at a market capitalization of 3.73 billion shillings while KCB Group moved 536,700 shares with a market capitalization of 107.32 billion shillings. More Articles From This Author
