Don’t wait for misfortune to sign onto insurance - Sunu Assurance CEO

Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Sunu Assurance, Mr Adeyemi Adetuwo The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Sunu Assurance, a wholly-owned Pan-African Insurance Group, Mr Adeyemi Adetuwo is advising Ghanaians and Africans in general not to wait for misfortunes to befall them before they sign onto insurance policies.

For him, insurance should be a priority of everyone’s plans, pointing out that people must make conscious efforts to insure their life and property.

He said insuring one’s property provides the needed security and guarantee for one to receive the needed assistance and support in times of trouble.

Mr Adetuwo gave the advice when he launched the company’s new distribution channel, Ezisure, a mobile platform in Accra, on Wednesday, June 9, 2021.

Sunu Assurances is one of the fast growing insurance companies in Ghana with premium income growing constantly from GH¢ 36.3 million to 40.4 million and 47.5 million, for the years 2017, 2018 and 2019 respectively.

The company which operates in in 14 countries in West and Central Africa offers Insurance cover for Motor, Fire with Business interruption, a full range of accident covers (Personal Accident Policy, Workers’ Compensation Policy, Burglary Policy, Fidelity Guarantee, Money Insurance Policy, Goods in Transit, Public Liability Policy), as well as Contract Bonds, Marine Insurance and Policies to cover Properties for Mortgages and Leasing Contracts.

Rationale

For Mr Adetuwo, "one does not need to experience loss or tragedy before considering insurance of property and business.”

He said “Insurance and the culture of protecting one’s property against unforeseen circumstances needs to be imbibed in Ghana and Africa as a whole and that is why we are launching this digital campaign."

According to him, the ideal objective of the company is to ensure a world “where insurance is easily accessible to every individual."
