Wanjigi said he began as proprietor of a private garbage collection firm which expanded by the day. "My first business was garbage collection. I pioneered private garbage collection in this country. There was a time during the Moi administration when garbage in this city was a nightmare. The bylaws only allowed the city council to collect the garbage. I got permission after a lot of lobbying to assist in the complementary service," said Wanjigi. What other properties does he own?

Wanjigi owns a partial mansion in Muthaiga, Nairobi county , with a gold-themed living room.
In August, during an interview with Citizen TV, the business mogul turned politician showed his fans a glimpse of his mansion, which sits on five acres.
