Kenya’s Nation Media Group swings to first-half profit

NAIROBI, Aug 25 (Reuters) – Kenya’s Nation Media Group said on Wednesday it swung into profit in this year’s first half, versus a loss in the corresponding 2020 period.

East Africa’s biggest news publisher, with several newspaper titles, broadcast stations and digital assets, said pretax profit was 410.7 million Kenyan shillings ($3.75 million) versus a loss of 328 million shillings a year earlier.

Turnover rose to 3.72 billion shillings from 3.26 billion in the first half of 2020, it added.
