Mugambi Nandi has been admitted to Roll of Solicitors in England and Wales

KN Law LLP has announced the admission of its Senior Partner, Mugambi Nandi, to the Roll of Solicitors of the Senior Courts of England and Wales.

Mugambi has over 20 years’ experience in legal practice, with legal and boardroom experience as counsel, Company Secretary and member of private and public sector corporate boards. Throughout his career, has been involved in M&A, Private Equity, Capital Market, and Corporate Finance transactions with a value of over Ksh. 100 billion. He holds qualifications in law and financial management, and is a Certified Public Secretary and Certified Governance Auditor. He has served as a Member of the Kenyatta University Council, Board Member of the Privatization Commission of Kenya, Communications Authority of Kenya, Seriani Asset Managers, and Mayfair CIB Bank.

Mugambi was cited by Chambers Global 2017 and 2018 as a Recognized Practitioner in the Corporate & Commercial Law rankings for Kenya. He has been ranked in Chambers Global in 2019, 2020, and 2021, with part of the citation stating that he is appreciated by clients for his sharp legal mind and solutions-oriented approach .

Acted as the team leader of the legal advisory team for Centum Investment Company Plc in the disposal of its stake in two beverage-manufacturing companies, was also involved as chief in-house counsel, in the merger of Stanbic Bank Kenya and CfC Bank.

Mugambi also advised in a 140MW geothermal project which included conducting legal due diligence and negotiating various complex project agreements. These agreements included the Steam Supply Agreement, EPC and O & M Contracts as well as the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).

He has also acted for Two Rivers Development company as legal advisors in the raising of Ksh. 2 Billion debt through Guaranteed Loan Notes.

Mugambi was ranked in the 2021 Edition of Chambers Global Guide as one of three Kenyan Corporate/M&A experts based abroad, alongside Clifford Chance LLP Partner, Jeniffer Mbaluto (based in London) and Atiq Ajarwalla (based in Dubai). He has been in London since 2019, when KN Law LLP set up its London Office at Berkeley Suite, 35 Berkeley Square, Mayfair, London.
