NAIROBI, Kenya, October 18 – Mobile Service Provider Safaricom has announced a four-hour interruption of M-Pesa services to allow for planned system maintenance.
The firm, through a statement, said that the regular maintenance will take place beginning Tuesday midnight
It will affect all MPESA services including airtime purchases.
“Our MPESA services shall be undergoing planned maintenance on Tuesday starting from 2359 hours to Wednesday 0400 hrs. During the maintenance, all M-PESA services including airtime purchase shall be temporarily unavailable,” it said.
Safaricom said the timing of the maintenance activity has been planned to result in the least convenient of all customers.
The telco clarified that the enhancements and maintenance of the systems are aimed at boosting transformation as part of investments and innovations.
“We are constantly investing and innovating M-PESA to ensure that we continue to meet the needs of our customers as well as continue to support our partners in their business ambitions,” the firm added.
