Safaricom PLC was the only brand at the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) on Friday that ended the week by moving shares above a million. The giant telco moved 2.06 million shares with a market capitalization of 1.52 trillion shillings.

Equity Group was the second top mover with 997,600 shares and a market capitalization of 198.12 billion shillings while Kenya Electricity Generating Company moved 898,200 shares, a market capitalization of 26.25 billion shillings. Absa Bank Kenya and Kenya Power and Lighting Company moved 425,400 and 367,400 shares respectively at a market capitalization of 65.18 and 3.10 billion shillings respectively.

Top Losers

The top loser of the day was Unga Group after shedding off 9.37 percent at the price of 30.00 shillings per share followed by Kakuzi with a loss of 5.42 percent at the price of 392.50 shillings per share.

Standard Group and Liberty Kenya lost 4.15 and 2.86 percent at the price of 15.00 and 6.80 shillings per share respectively while Stanlib Fahari Income – REIT lost 1.90 percent at the price of 6.20 shillings per share.

Top Gainers

Sameer Africa was the top gainer of the day with 9.43 percent at the price of 2.67 shillings per share followed by BOC Kenya and Sanlam Kenya with 7.89 and 7.53 percent at the price of 82.00 and 15.00 shillings per share respectively.

British American Tobacco and I&M Holdings gained 4.86 and 4.62 percent at the price of 490.75 and 21.50 shillings per share. More Articles From This Author
