Safaricom to pay KES 18 bln in first ever interim dividend

Kenyan operator Safaricom is set to pay an interim dividend for the first time of KES 18.03 billion, citing a solid half-year performance and the need to support investors amid the Covid-19 pandemic. A meeting on 10 February approved the interim payment of KES 0.45 per ordinary share irrespective of the current operating environment on or about 31 March to shareholders on record on 05 March.
