Telkom, Safaricom and Airtel enable interoperable mobile payments

Network operators Telkom, Safaricom and Airtel Kenyan have announced the interoperability of their mobile money service platforms, allowing payments to Lipa Na M-Pesa Buy Goods tills from any of the three networks, although this excludes PayBills. This is the first phase towards complete merchant interoperability, with the aim to let customers of T-kash, M-Pesa and Airtel Money make direct mobile money payments to any merchant till number, improving adoption of cashless payments.
