These Are Safaricom Products and Services Unavailable Over The Weekend

Safaricom Apps Safaricom will be conducting a service upgrade during the night of Saturday, 24 July.

The exercise, as usual, will see some of the carrier’s products interrupted.

According to the operator, the upgrade aims to increase its capacity ‘in line with customer growth and support more innovations to meet the different needs of customers.’

The network adjustment will start from 24 July from 10 PM to 8 AM the following morning.

Here are the services that will be unavailable:

> All product purchases

Balance enquiry

Okoa Jahazi

Tunukiwa

All Bonga Points services

Postpay payments Home Fibre payments All other services will remain untouched, including: > Calls Data SMS M-PESA ‘The timing of this maintenance activity has been planned to result in the least possible inconvenience to our customers. Further clarification: A statement by the Spokesperson of the Kenya Government has clarified that an earlier report, which stated that there would be internet interruptions following the relocation of a fibre optic cable, are not true.According to the Spokesperson (Cyrus Oguna), the relocation of internet-related infrastructure to allow the construction of the Rironi-Mau Summit highway will not affect internet access.‘…have devised a mechanisms to ensure zero effect on internet supply during the permanent relocation of the fibre optic cable to pave way for road construction,’ says Oguna in a statement.
