WINDHOEK – Six murders were reported over the weekend according to the latest crime report of the Namibian Police.
In one of the incidents a farm worker at Graswater in the /Karas Region was allegedly stabbed and killed by a fellow worker yesterday over a debt of N$50. The manager of the farm reported to the police at 01h17 that his workers were fighting and when he arrived at the scene he found the deceased in a pool of blood with a knife stuck in his chest. It is also alleged the suspect hit the victim on the head with a stone, which led to the stabbing. The fight was purportedly over an N$50 that the deceased owed the suspect. The victim was taken to the Karasburg State Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries yesterday morning at 05h55. The deceased was identified as Frans ‘Shorty’ Rooi, age unknown. A 31-year-old man was arrested in connection with the murder and police are investigating. A woman was brutally stabbed and killed on Friday at Oshihau, a village in the Onesi constituency between 21h00 and 22h00.
