Berger Paints Plc has appointed an acting Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Mrs Modupe Oguntade, following the retirement of Mr Peter Folikwe.
The firm, in a statement on Friday, said the appointment was in line with it succession policy.
It said Folikwe would be exiting the board, having completed his four-year tenure as managing director.
It added that the board remained grateful to Folikwe for his services to the company.
The statement read in part, “Mrs Modupe Oguntade, who is the current chief financial officer of Berger Paints Nigeria Plc, will take over as managing director/chief executive officer of Berger Paints in an acting capacity, with effect from January 7, 2019.
“Oguntade brings on board almost three decades of management experience, having worked with different quoted companies, multinationals and group of companies, including Coopers & Lybrand Nigeria, SCOA Nigeria Plc, Sooner Pipes Limited, TY Group, and the Dangote Group.
“She holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Obafemi Awolowo University with specialisation in Management. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria. She is also a member of the SMP 12 Class of the Lagos Business School.”
The firm said stakeholders were directed to take note of the changes, adding that the disclosure was in line with Rule 17.5 and 17.6 of Part 2 (Issuer’s Rules) of the Nigerian Stock Exchange’s Rule Book.
