Investors exchange shares worth N1.68bn

nigeria stock exchange Investors on Tuesday traded 143.708 million shares worth N1.682 billion in 3457 deals.

This is against 168.721 million shares valued at N3.751 billion exchanged hands the previous day in 3048 deals.

The Nigerian Stock Exchange trading result for the day showed that All share Index declined to 31038.86 points from 31042.32 points traded the previous day.

Market capitalisation of listed equities increased by N95 billion or 0.82 per cent to N11.671 trillion from N11.576 trillion reported on Monday.

A review of trading activities during the day, showed that Mobil led gainers table, increasing by N3.00 to close at N170.00, Dangote Cement followed with a gain of N1.50 kobo to close at N190.00, Cadbury Nigeria Plc added N0.95 kobo to close at N10.85 kobo, Unilever Nigeria Plc gained N0.50 kobo to close at N39.00, Dangote Floor advanced by N0.35 kobo to close at N11.45 kobo.

Presco Plc recorded the highest loss during the day, dropping by N3.50 kobo to close at N64.50 kobo, Nigerian Breweries trailed with a loss of N2.50 kobo to close at N67.00, Ecobank Transnational Incorporated fell by N0.45 kobo to close at N13.05 kobo, PZ Cusson depreciated by N0.30 kobo to close at N10.20 kobo, Union Bank of Nigeria down by N0.15 kobo to close at N6.90 kobo.

Further review of the transactions indicated that FBNHoldings was the most active stock during the day, trading 29.655 million shares valued at N243.267 million, Access Bank Plc followed with account of 16.340 million shares valued at N106.050 million, United Bank for Africa traded 11.750 million shares worth N91.022 million, Transnational Corporation of Nigeria (Transcorp) exchanged 9.101 million shares worth N12.251 million while Vitafoam Nigeria Plc traded 8.097 million shares valued at N31.963 million
