Nigerian Bourse Maintains Uptrend… ASI advanced further by 1.03%

The Nigerian equities market closed positive today as NSE-ASI gained +1.03%. The All-Share Index (ASI), advanced from its opening index of 39,110.17 points to close at 39,512.31 points. Year to date return and Market capitalization settled at 46.73%, and 20.66trillion.

A total volume of 372.9 billion units of shares, valued at N11.5billion exchanged hands in 5,186 deals. UBA was the most traded shares by volume with 60.5 million units, while DANGCEM topped by value at N8.04billion.

Market breadth index was positive with 29 losers and 17 gainers. BUACEMENT (+10.00%) led the gainer’s chart today, while FTNCOCOA (-9.88%) was the top loser.

Sector Performances

NSE Industrial Index : Up by 3.74% on buy-interests in BUACEMENT (+10.00%).

NSE Insurance Index : Advanced by +1.63%, on price appreciation in AIICO (+10.00%) and NEM (+3.24%).

NSE Consumer Goods Index : Rose by 0.36% as a result of the gain in INTBREW (+10.00%).

NSE Banking Index : Down by 0.71% on price depreciation in UBN (-5.36%), ACCESS (-2.23%), FIDELITYBK (-0.78%) and GUARANTY (-0.61%).

NSE Oil & Gas Index : Fell by 0.39% on sell-off in OANDO (-3.31%).
