Eaagads Ends Thursday As Top Gainer At The NSE

Eaagads was the top gainer of the day on Thursday at the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) with 10.00 percent at the price of 9.90 shillings per share, followed by Trans-Century with 9.32 percent at the price of 1.76 shillings per share.

I & M Holdings, the East African Cables, and Uchumi Supermarket gained 3.87, 3.17, and 3.03 percent respectively at the price of 51.00, 1.92, and 0.34 shillings per share respectively.

The top loser of the day was Express with 9.80 percent at the price of 4.80 shillings per share. Jubilee Holdings was the second top loser after shedding off 6.24 percent at the price of 229.00 shillings per share.

Home Afrika, Sanlam Kenya, and Equity Group lost 4.35, 4.03, and 3.82 percent respectively at the price of 0.44, 13.10, and 31.50 shillings per share respectively.

Safaricom is still the top mover, a position it has been holding since the week began. On Thursday, the telecommunications company moved 30.03 million shares with a market capitalization of 1.10 trillion shillings.

Equity Group, despite being among the top five losers of the day, moved 8.56 million shares at a market capitalization of 118.87 billion shillings. BK Group sold 2.97 million shares with a market capitalization of 14.98 billion shillings.

KCB Group and WPP ScanGroup sold 1.94 million and 847,500 shares respectively with a market capitalization of 109.25 and 8.69 billion shillings respectively.

The NSE has been among the hard-hit institutions by the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic that has left the economy of Kenya on its knees.
