Kenya Airways resumes domestic flights in and out of Nairobi

PHOTO. | File Kenya Airways has announced the resumption of domestic flights in and out of Nairobi Sunday following the reopening of five counties including Nairobi that were closed in March. In a statement, the airline said it would be flying twice daily to Mombasa from Nairobi and once daily to Kisumu as it reviews the options of increasing flights as demand picks up. The Corporate Affairs department in a statement said all passengers will be required to strictly observe the Covid-19 containment measures to ensure the safety of all airport users.

At the same time, Jambojet in a statement also announced the resumption of operations to all its five local destinations including Mombasa, Kisumu, Eldoret, Ukunda, and Malindi from the Nairobi hub beginning Sunday.

The airline advised customers who had suspended their travel to get in touch with the reservations department to reschedule their flights.

In a statement, the airline said its aircraft are fitted with High-Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filtration system that refreshes the air every three minutes as well as sanitizing the aircraft with industry-approved disinfectants before and after each flight.
