Kenya Airways will resume flights from Nairobi to London Heathrow this summer. All flights between Kenya and the United Kingdom were suspended on April 9, earlier this year, after Kenya was added to UK’s “ red list .”
The Nairobi-based carrier will be operating flights between Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and London Heathrow starting Saturday, June 26 this week, after Kenya lifted travel restrictions. However, both governments have issued their respective health protocols.
Passengers traveling to the UK from Kenya must be British or Irish nationals or have a right of residence in the UK. They also need to submit a negative test report taken no earlier than 72 hours before departure and stay in hotel quarantine for 14 days.
Similarly, passengers traveling to Kenya must submit a negative PCR test report no later than 96 hours before departure. They need to self-isolate for seven days.
After the announcement of flight resumption to London Heathrow, Kenya Airways acting Chief Commercial and Customer Officer Julius Thairu said:
