Kenya Power And Lighting Tops The NSE On Wednesday

Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) emerged as the top gainer of the day on Wednesday, January 20, 2021, with 6.45 percent at the price of 1.65 shillings per share followed by HF Group with 5.52 percent at the price of 3.89 shillings per share.

I & M Holdings and Britam Holdings gained 4.55 and 2.19 percent at the price of 46.00 and 7.48 shillings per share respectively while Equity Group gained 1.92 percent at the price of 37.25 shillings per share.

Stanbic Holdings was the top loser of the day shedding off 7.50 percent at the price of 74.00 shillings per share followed by Uchumi Supermarket (which was the top gainer on Tuesday) with a loss of 7.41 percent at the price of 0.25 shillings per share.

Longhorn Kenya and the Eveready East Africa lost 7.16 and 6.84 percent at the price of 4.54 and 1.09 shillings per share respectively while Bamburi Cement shed off 6.35 percent at the price of 42.00 shillings per share.

Despite being among the top losers, Bamburi Cement emerged as the top mover of the day, selling 8 million shares with a market capitalization of 15.24 billion shillings followed by KCB Group who sold 5.96 million shares with a market capitalization of 114.88 billion shillings.

Safaricom PLC and Equity Group sold 4.65 and 3.36 million shares with a market capitalization of 1.44 trillion and 140.57 billion shillings. KPLC moved 461,600 shares with a market capitalization of 3.22 billion shillings. About Juma
