KQ CEO Elected To IATA Board of Governors

IATA is the trade association for the world’s airlines and represents some 290 airlines across the world, or 82 percent of global air traffic./COURTESY NAIROBI, Kenya, Apr 27 – Kenya Airways has announced the election of its Group Managing Director & CEO Allan Kilavuka to the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Board of Governors.

This follows a vote by IATA’s Board of Governors on the nominations received for the position.

IATA is the trade association for the world’s airlines and represents some 290 airlines across the world, or 82 percent of global air traffic.

Members of the Board exercise and oversight and executive role on behalf of the membership in representing the interests of the Association.

Commenting on the election, Kilavuka said “It’s a great honor to be part of the IATA Board of Governors and I am looking forward to contributing meaningfully towards the advancement of the aviation industry not only in Africa but across the world”

“It gives me great pleasure to advise you formally of your election to interim membership on the Board with immediate effect until the close of the 2020 Annual General Meeting. I look forward to working with you as part of IATA’s Board of Governors” said IATA Director General & CEO Alexandre De Juniac.
