Total Petroleum Ghana Limited has commemorated this year’s World Malaria Day by organizing a series of activities for residents of Kasoa Ofaakor in the the Awutu Senya East Area of the Central Region.
The company distributed treated mosquito bed nets and mosquito sprays to pregnant and lactating mothers, reports Business Ghana.
A statement said the distribution exercise, under the auspices of the Ghana Health Service, was part of a two-day programme held with support from the Ghana Education Service.
The Corporate Social Responsibility officer, Charlotte Somuah-Kwawa, explained children are the best agents for fighting the menace of Malaria.
She added that Total Ghana’s Malaria Campaign over the years used the company’s network of service stations as an effective platform to expand its reach to the motoring public by distributing treated mosquito bed nets to commercial drivers and other customers.
Total has a retail network of 251 service stations in Ghana.
