Nsawam Lorry Station Traders’ Association inaugurated

Nsawam (E/R), March 26, GNA – A 260-member Nsawam Lorry Station Traders’ Association has been inaugurated with a call on the members to save with the banks to receive financing support to grow their businesses.

Mr Gilbert Amoah, a Government Appointee to the Nsawam Adoagyiri Municipal Assembly and the Chairman of a seven-member executive of the Association made the call in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at Nsawam on Tuesday.

He said the purpose of the Association was to help members, especially the youth to establish their own businesses through the assistance of the banks in soap making, baking of bread, pineapple farming among other things.

“We have the Citizens Rural Bank, Ghana Commercial Bank and other financial institutions in the municipality who are ever ready to support members if they do business with the banks and this would help the youth secure employment and become self-reliant while preventing them from migrating to the cities,” Mr Amoah said.

He appealed to non-governmental organizations to support the Association to become successful in its endeavours.

Mr Frank Annoh Dompreh, the Member of Parliament for Nsawam Adoagyiri who chaired the function commended the traders for the formation of the Association and said the government was doing everything possible to revive the ASTEK Factory in the area as part of the One District One Factory agenda to create jobs for the youth.
