Rebecca Foundation supports SOS Village to mitigate Covid-19 discomfort

Rebecca Challenge The Rebecca Foundation has donated assorted items to the SOS Village Ghana as part of efforts to mitigate the socio-economic discomfort associated with the Covid-19 pandemic.

The items were boxes of cocoa drink, bags of maize, beans, gari, rice, and sugar, cartons of vegetable oil, Chocolate spread, washing powder, toilet rolls and some cupcakes. Kaya Spirits Mrs Akosua Newman, the Director of Operations, Rebecca Foundation, made the presentation to the Village on behalf of the First Lady and Executive Director of the Foundation, Mrs Rebecca Akufo-Addo.

Mrs Newman said the First Lady, a Patron of the SOS Village, acknowledged the possible challenges that could confront the institution “in these times of the Coronavirus pandemic and its attendant lockdown and quarantines,” thus her decision to donate to the Village.

She said the important role the SOS Village plays in giving care to orphans made it imperative for the support to ensure none contracted the Covid-19 as an outbreak on any of their campuses would be disastrous to the innocent children.

She said The Rebecca Foundation, through its “Relief Boxes Challenge,” had received contributions from well-meaning Ghanaians and institutions, of which it had made many donations to various identifiable groups and institutions.

Mrs Newman said the First Lady was determined to partner corporate Ghana to complement government’s efforts at reducing the discomforts associated with the partial lockdown to ensure a halt in the spread of the disease.

She asked corporate institutions and individuals to continue to partner the Foundation to ensure its objectives were met.
