Unilever donates to Osu Children’s Home and Ayawaso North Muslim Community

Social Unilever Community Unilever Ghana has donated detergents and other home and hygiene products valued at over GHC30, 000 to the Osu Children’s Home as part of measures to assist in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.

They also serviced their longstanding partnerships with the orphanage and pledged their support at providing good care for inmates of the facility. Kaya Spirits Head of Communications and Sustainability of Unilever Ghana, Henry Malm, said the gesture was to complement government’s efforts at ensuring the maintenance of proper health and wellbeing habits amongst the citizenry, as it mobilized the needed recourses to battle the Covid-19 pandemic.

Also, the leading manufacturer and distributor of quality Home and Hygiene, Beauty & Personal care and food and refreshments products, also saw its campaign as a support to institutions and individuals to maintain decent sanitation standards.

Products donated included; Sunlight detergent powders, VIM scouring powder for cleaning surfaces, Domestos also a leading bleach product, BF and Key brillant soap for the laundry and Sunlight Dish washing liquid.

The use of the products would guarantee good care for the Children that were future leaders.

Also, in the spirit of the Holy month of Ramadan, the company donated 1000 bags of Home & hygiene products to the Ayawaso North Metropolitan Assembly for distribution to members of the Muslim community.

Each bag had laundry and surface cleaning products to help with their daily cleaning needs, even more importantly in this era of COVID 19, to prevent the spread of the virus.

Unilever Ghana encouraged all Ghanaians to keep their environment clean especially their door handles, kitchens, bathrooms and toilets and to wash clothes frequently.

It is also important to wash hands frequently, with soap under running water, as a surest way to prevent the spread of diseases.
