Wa Branch: Customers of GCB Bank Cry Foul Over Poor Services

15 HOURS AGO REGIONAL NEWS Quite a number of customers of Ghana Commercial Bank’s Wa Branch have called for an extra branch over excessive crowd and slow services.

According to the complainants, they spend more time on queues to either deposit, withdraw or pay for services and by this act have had to lose certain opportunities and service partners who feel they(customers of GCB) are not serious.

According to a Public sector worker who identified himself as Jake Kaagaa, he stated that the bank is mostly very busy throughout the month even with the presence of an ATM machine, he believes the growing number of people and businesses in upper west demands an expansion or addition of an extra branch to ease the pressure on the small branch created in Wa for residents numbering over 130,000 in Wa township.

Some other businessmen stated their displeasure explaining that they leave their businesses to come and deposit huge sums only to meet very long and slow queues. This has kept pressure on the bank making services and servers slow in delivery.

Ghana Commercial Bank has 3 Branches in Upper West with one Branch in Wa another in Lawra, 123km from Wa serving four Districts namely Nandom, Lawra, Jirapa, Nadowli-kaleo which makes it very crowded and lastly a branch in Tumu which is 138km from Wa and Serves 4 Districts including Sissala East, West, Wa East and Lambussie making it very crowded also.
