Here Are The Rulers And Movers Of The NSE On Tuesday

The banks led the top movers’ table at the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) Tuesday. The top mover was Equity Group with 4.74 million shares and a market capitalization of 134.53 billion shillings.

The second top mover at the bourse on Tuesday was Absa Kenya having sold 4.09 million shares with a market capitalization of 51.06 billion shillings. It has been a while since Absa featured among the top movers of the day.

Safaricom, known for dominating the top movers’ table was the third on Tuesday with 3.46 million shares and a market capitalization of 1.27 trillion shillings. The telecommunications giant is among the few that have remained resilient on the market.

Kenya Electricity Generating Company (KenGen) and East African Breweries sold 678,800 and 617,700 shares respectively with a market capitalization of 30.0 and 122.57 billion shillings respectively. KenGen is currently considering selling electricity directly to consumers.

Eveready East Africa was the top gainer of the day on Tuesday with 8.99 percent at the price of 0.97 shillings per share followed by Home Afrika with 7.69 percent at the price of 0.42 shillings per share.

Centum Investment Company was the third top gainer of the day with 6.85 percent at the price of 17.95 shillings per share followed by SanlamKenya with 4.55 percent at the price of 11.50 shillings per share. WPP ScanGroup gained 3.33 percent at the price of 6.20 shillings per share.

The top loser of the day was Olympia Capital with 8.18 percent at the price of 2.02 shillings per share followed by East African Cables with 7.14 percent at the price of 1.30 shillings per share.

Diamond Trust Bank and TPS Eastern Africa (Serena) lost 3.08 and 2.50 percent at the price of 63.00 and 13.65 shillings per share respectively. Standard Chartered Bank lost 2.32 percent at the price of 147.25 shillings per share.

As the sessions kick off on Wednesday, Soko Directory oversees banks ruling the top movers’ table again. Today, Co-operative Bank might be among the top movers at the NSE. More Articles From This Author
