Nairobi Securities Exchange(NSE) recorded Kapchorua Tea Company as the top price gainer when trading ended this Wednesday.
Kapchorua share price was up 10% to close at KSh 93.50 per share over the previous closing price of KSh 85.00 on Tuesday 13th, 2021.
KAPC began 2021 with a share price of KSh 78.00 and has since gained 19.87% on that price valuation, ranking it 12th on the NSE in terms of year-to-date performance. The KAPC stock has accrued 13.68% over the past four-week period. NSE Top Price Gainer
Kapchorua was followed by Eveready East Africa, which gained 8.25% to KSh 1.05, Diamond Trust Bank Kenya, whose share price rose by 6.72% to KSh 63.50 and STANLIB Fahari Income REIT, whose price was up 5.23% to KSh 6.44 when trading closed this Wednesday.
Uchumi closed the day with a gain of 4% to KSh 0.26.
CIC Insurance Group was the worst performer on the losing side, with its share price declining by 8.61% to close at KSh 3.08 per share from the previous closing price of KSh 3.37.
CIC started 2021 with a share price of KSh 2.13 and has since gained 44.6% on that price valuation, ranking it 3rd on the Nairobi bourse in terms of year-to-date performance. The CIC counter has accrued 48.79% in value over the past four-week period.
CIC Insurance Group was followed by Sameer Africa, which declined by 5.29% to KSh 3.22, Crown Paints Kenya, whose share price was down 4.04% to KSh 24.95, Nairobi Business Ventures, which lost 3.33% of its share price to KSh 11.60 and WPP ScanGroup which was down 2.80% to KSh 4.86.
KenGen was the day’s top mover with a volume of 2.9 million traded shares, followed by Equity Group Holdings (2.56Million), Safaricom (1.74Million), I&M Holdings (1.66Million) and KPLC, which dealt a volume of 1.17 Million shares.
The benchmark Nairobi All Share Index (NASI) moved up 1.31 (0.75%) points to close at 176.15, representing a 1-week gain of 0.77%, a 4-week gain of 1.14%, and an overall year-to-date gain of 15.8%.
The NSE 20 Share Index was up 0.11%, representing a one week gain of 0.83% and 4.66% YTD.
