New Members In Safaricom Board Changes

Dilip Pal and Raisibe Morathi As of November 1st, new changes were appointed in the Safaricom board. Two new career executives were installed as directors. Kathryn Maundu, the company secretary announced the new appointments of Raisibe Morathi and Dilip Pal in a statement.

Dilip Pal took up the role of Chief Finance Officer of the telecommunication company on Sunday, having more than 29 years’ experience in Finance. He joins Safaricom from DTAC Thailand, where he was the Chief Finance Officer from 2017. He has held various finance roles in Vodafone India rising to the role of EVP Finance in Mumbai. Pal took over as CFO from Sateesh Kamath, who left the telco in July 2020.

Pal has also played a part in finance roles in organizations including Hutchinson Essar, Hindustan Coca Cola Beverages and Tata Tinplate.

Raisibe Morathi, also comes in from the world of financial services. Raisibe has over 26 years experience working with corporates in Africa including Nedbank Group, Sanlam Group and the Industrial Development Corporation. She is also a Chartered Accountant (SA) and completed an Advanced Management Programme (AMP) with INSEAD (France).

These appointments come days after former long-serving chairman, Nicholas Nganga was appointed to chair Kakuzu PLC. In August, Safaricom announced the retirement of Nganga.
