Regional domiciled carrier Jambojet has confirmed Karanja Ndegwa as its Chief Executive Officer effective Thursday.
Ndegwa who formerly served as the airlines Chief Financial Officer (CFO) has been serving the carrier as the Acting CEO since April last year.
Prior to joining the company, Ndegwa worked with Kenya Airways in different capacities including as its manager for Revenue Accounting and first served Jambojet as the Head of Finance after joining the carrier in 2014.
He replaced Allan Kilavuka who moved up to Kenya Airways as its CEO after also serving on interim capacity after the unprecedented exit of Sebastian Mikosz in 2019.
Ndegwa will be tasked with steering the regional carrier through its next phase of growth having already hit some key milestones in recent years.
Jambojet has for instance undertaken an aggressive fleet expansion that now sees it with six new De Havilland Dash 8-400 planes.
Its regional growth will meanwhile see it venture into the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) with new flights to Goma effective September 10.
Karanja Ndegwa holds an Economics and Statistics degree from the University of Nairobi and is a Certified Public Accountant.
He has over two decades of experience in various leadership roles within the airline industry.
Jambojet is Kenya Airway’s sister carrier.
