Mdundo's Users Increase by 10% to Reach 16 million in Africa

Mdundo has posted a 10% growth in the number of unique users for the quarter ended September 2021

The music streaming platform has attributed the growth to a significant increase in users in Tanzania, Kenya, and South Africa

In Kenya, Mdundo grew by 13% to 2.6 million unique users contributing 15% of the platform’s total audience in the period

In the quarter, Tanzania had the platform’s most extensive user base, recording 4.1 million unique users, with Nigeria and Kenya recording 3.1 million and 2.6 million users.

In Kenya, Mdundo grew by 13% to 2.6 million unique users contributing 15% of the platform’s total audience in the period.

Commenting on the development, Mdundo’s Head of Brand Partnerships Africa, Rachel Karanu said the rapid growth across the region further establishes the platform as a vital consumer touchpoint for their advertising clients. “We are working closely with leading consumer brands across Africa to drive consumer influence. It is therefore great news that we are increasing the reach for our brand and our advertising partners,” she said, adding that the company is looking forward to the last quarter of the year where they expect to further grow the platform’s reach. The company furthermore announced that it has been working with some of the top brands across Kenya, Nigeria and Tanzania within the quarter by offering brand solutions for Sportpesa , Safaricom, Chrome Gin, Standard Chartered Bank, Captain Morgan, Coca Cola, BetKing and Guinness Smooth among others.

The brand projects are centred around the newly launched Mdundo Brand Lift Tool, available for free on mdundoforbrands.com, providing key customer and brand performance insights.
