Sameer Africa Carries Thursday With 10% Gain At The NSE

The top gainer of the day at the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) on Thursday was Sameer Africa with 10.00 percent at the price of 3.85 shillings per share followed by Express with a gain of 7.66 percent at the price of 4.50 shillings per share.

Umeme was the third gainer of the day with 6.34 percent at the price of 7.04 shillings per share followed by Equity Group with 4.74 percent at the price of 36.45 shillings per share.

I & M Holdings closed the top 5 gainers’ table with a gain of 4.53 percent at the price of 44.95 shillings per share.

Liberty Kenya was the top loser of the day. The company lost 9.41 percent at the price of 7.70 shillings per share followed by Nairobi Business Ventures with 6.06 percent at the price of 0.62 shillings per share.

WPP ScanGroup was the third loser of the day with 3.83 percent at the price of 6.52 shillings per share followed by East African Cables with 3.63 percent at a price of 1.86 shillings per share.

Uchumi Supermarket lost 2.94 percent at the price of 0.33 shillings per share.

Safaricom was the top mover of the day. The giant telecommunications company moved 10.41 million shares with a market capitalization of 1.18 trillion shillings followed by Absa Bank Kenya who moved 2.24 million shares with a market capitalization of 53.34 billion shillings.

Nairobi Securities Exchange moved 180 million shares with a market capitalization of 1.82 billion shillings followed by Equity Group with 1.49 million shares and a market capitalization of 137.55 billion shillings.
