Two M-Pesa fraudsters arrested in Machakos, over 600 sim cards recovered

Police said the two suspects have been terrorising residents of Machakos town and its environs. DCI detectives based in Machakos have arrested two people suspected to be M-Pesa fraudsters.

The two suspects; 23-year-old Kevin Sagini Oroko, and 27-year-old Dominic Otiso Nyabuto were apprehended from their hideout at Miwani Estate within Machakos town.

The two suspects are in lawful custody awaiting arraignment.

Over 600 assorted Safaricom and Airtel Sim Cards were confiscated during the operation.

Also, 96 Kenyan national Identity Cards bearing different names as well as six mobile phones were recovered.

At the same time, KCB Inua Jamii Cash Transfer Cards, 16 Bank Agent Transaction Registers, two gambling machines, and a laptop among other electronic equipment were recovered.
