Buy-interests in Dangote Cement Plc shares today led to a gain of N272.65 billion in market value as positive sentiments around the shares of the cement maker triggered a 6.53% growth in share price at the close of trading activities on the Nigerian Stock Exchange.

At the close of the market today, data revealed that the shares of DANGOTE CEMENT appreciated from N245.00 per share at the start of trading day, to N261.00 per share at the close of the market today, reflecting a growth of 6.53%.

This saw the market capitalization of the leading cement maker appreciate from N4.17 trillion to N4.45 trillion at the close of trading activities today, putting the total market value gained at N272.65 billion. What you should know

At the current price, the shares of Dangote Cement Plc is currently trading at its 52-week high, at N261.00 per share. However, the shares of the company have returned about 90.51% gains for investors who bought them at their 52-week low trading price of N137.00 per share.

Year-to-date however, Dangote Cement Plc share price has appreciated by 6.57%. During today’s trading hours, 1,213,624 ordinary shares worth about N307.34 million, were exchanged in 68 executed deals.

In comparison, the shares of Wapco Plc appreciated 0.66% to close at N22.75, while BUA Cement Plc closed flat at N66.00 per share, at the end of today’s trading session. Market summary
