Oando, JV partners rehabilitate roads in host communities

Oando Plc, in conjunction with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation and the Nigeria Agip Oil Company, has announced the inauguration of road projects with drainage system in its host communities in Imo, Rivers and Bayelsa states.

The company said in a statement that three road projects were completed in Imo, namely Flora Nwakuche Road, Echina Road and Bishop Nwedo Road, with drains in the Oguta community.

It said roads were inaugurated in the Ebgemo Angalabiri community, Ekeremore and Etiema, Nembe in Bayelsa, while a 1.5km road was completed in the Aggah community, Onelga, Rivers State.

Oando said the road projects would improve access to and from the community, spur economic activities and growth and improve the quality and standard of living of members of the community.

Speaking at the event, the Community Relations Manager, Oando Energy Resources, Chief Sam Onyenwe said, “We recognise the importance of good road network to the community and the economy at large. We are hopeful that the inauguration and handing over of these roads today will lead to an improvement in the transportation and delivery of goods and services.

“We are also hopeful that this will open up these particular communities to their neighbouring communities and promote economic development.”
