Qatar Airways has joined the International Civil Aviation Organization’s (ICAO) Global Coalition for Sustainable Aviation. By joining, Qatar together with other partners will be able to share ideas and experiences on reducing carbon emissions associated with the aviation sector.

KLM to Avoid Deploying Unvaccinated Flight Personnel to Some Destinations

KLM has asked all flight personnel unvaccinated against COVID-19 to disclose their status to avoid deployment into countries where vaccination has become a requirement for airline crews. The move will further help KLM prepare for countries beginning to make COVID-19 vaccination a requirement before entry.

Emirates Prepares for Increase in Passenger Traffic with New Recruitments

Emirates has announced that it is seeking to recruit 3,500 people to support operations in its hub in Dubai. Out of the figure, 3,000 will be part of its cabin crew and 500 will be airport ground support staff.

Boeing Projects Increase in Aviation Professionals over the Next Two Decades

Boeing has projected that 63,000 aviation professionals will be needed to work in Africa’s aviation industry in the next 20 years. Pilots will account for 19,000 of the figure while maintenance technicians and cabin crew will be 20,000 and 24,000 respectively.

Kenya Airways Giving 30% Booking Discount Kenya Airways is offering up to a 30% discount for bookings made on some of its select destinations from now until September 24, 2021. The offer is valid for both Business and Economy Class travels before May 31, 2022. Ethiopian Named Best African Cargo Airline Ethiopian Airlines has been adjudged the best cargo airline in Africa by Air Cargo News.
