Kenyans Online Complain about Kenya Airways’ Poor Services

National carrier Kenya Airways is facing accusations of canceling scheduled flights without prior notice to customers.

A section of Kenyans took to social media to complain about the airline’s disorganization and poor communication.

Kenyan radio presenter Adelle Onyango called out Kenya Airways after her sister got stuck in Zanzibar for hours.

“KQ @KenyaAirways y’all are misbehaving again, with your flight – KQ 495 – from Zanzibar. Why has it been canceled and what is the solution?” Adelle tweeted.

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) secretary-general Edwin Sifuna said he was stranded for five hours after a flight to Arusha, Tanzania was delayed.

“I was to be on the @KenyaAirways flight to Arusha at 1.30 pm today. Take off was pushed to 3 pm. Then to 3.50 pm. After sitting here almost 5 hours I go to the gate at 3.20 and the flight is closed! The lady at the gate has graciously offered an address I can email my frustrations,” said Sifuna.

@midikira noted: “Poor show by @KenyaAirways. KQ 495 canceled. No prior communication, no guidance from ground staff on the next steps. According to the system, the flight is still scheduled. Poor poor form. No surprise that you are struggling.”
