Ghana-based Access Bank has forged a partnership with payments giant Visa International to launch contactless payment cards.
Under this partnership, Access Bank will roll out Visa’s contactless “Tap and Pay” cards into the market.
The ‘Access Bank Contactless Visa card’ enables cardholders to make payments by just tapping their cards at point-of-sale (POS) terminals at merchant locations.
The chip-enabled contactless card is embedded with an antenna which allows the ‘Tap and Pay’ payment functionality.
Access Bank, which operates in 52 business locations in the country, has configured all its POS machines to accept contactless Visa cards for payments.
The bank customers as well as non-customers can obtain the contactless card by submitted their request at the bank’s branches.
