BCCL Launches Primary Market Information Platform And Signs MoU With ADBC

Bond Connect Company Limited (BCCL) today (Friday) launched its Primary Market Information Platform at a ceremony held at the HKEX Connect Hall. The Primary Market Information Platform is the first English-language portal for the dissemination of Chinese primary bond market information. The new portal provides timely and reliable information on new Chinese bond issuances to global Bond Connect users.

Agricultural Development Bank of China (ADBC) is the first issuer to join the platform and publish its bond issuance information there. At the same ceremony, BCCL signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with ADBC to jointly promote the linking of the primary bond markets in China and other countries and territories. Over 100 guests, including high level delegates from Mainland China and Hong Kong regulatory bodies, financial infrastructure providers and market participants, attended the ceremony.

Charles Li, Chief Executive, Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited delivered welcome remarks to the guests. Among other distinguished speakers at the event were Keith Lui, Executive Director, Supervision of Markets Division, Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong, as well as Yin Jiuyong, Deputy Governor of ADBC and Zhang Cuiwei, Chairman of BCCL and Executive Vice President, China Foreign Exchange Trade System.

BCCL Chairman Zhang Cuiwei said: “Bond Connect is not only a bridge that links up China and the world’s financial infrastructure, it also connects issuers and investors of the fixed income communities onshore and offshore. The newly launched Primary Market Information Platform provides a convenient and efficient information channel for primary issuers and global investors to conduct issuance and investment.”

ADBC Deputy Governor Yin Jiuyong said: “BCCL plays a key role in connecting Mainland China and overseas markets through the mutual connect scheme in Hong Kong.
