Kumasi Asante Kotoko has successfully renewed its sponsorship deals with Ghana Oil Company (GOIL) and MTN, General Manager for the club Yves Nana Gyembibi Coker has confirmed.

The Ghana Premier League giants have been sponsored in the past few years by the state-owned oil and gas marketing company and the giant telecommunications company.

Having benefited greatly from these deals, it became necessary for the management of the Porcupine Warriors to renegotiate the deals in order to continue enjoying the goodies.

Speaking to Light FM today, Nana Gyembibi Coker has revealed that indeed both contracts with GOIL and MTN have been renewed.

“We have been able to renew both contracts. Currently, MTN will be paying Kotoko from January to March in fulfilling their promise”, the General Manager for Asante Kotoko noted.

The expected cash sum the club is set to receive from the big companies will go a long way to reduce the financial burden on club Executive Chairman Dr. Kwame Kyei who has been footing the bills of players and staff all by himself in the midst of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) crisis.
