Unilever Ghana PLC has been adjudged the number one Top Employer for 2022 at the Top Employer 2022 Awards.
A media release issued in Accra said the awards follows the HR Best Practices survey that assessed HR domains including people strategy, work environment, talent acquisition, learning, well-being, sustainability, and diversity and inclusion, among others. In his remarks, the Managing Director of Unilever Ghana PLC, Mr George Owusu-Ansah, said, ‘this award gives expression to our commitment to always put our people first in all we do as a business. Our people will always remain our number one priority as an organisation.’
He said the Top Employers Institute had certified and recognised over 1,857 Top Employers in 123 countries across five continents since its inception.
Therefore, he said Unilever being certified as a Top Employer showcased an organisation’s dedication to a better world of work, exhibited through excellent HR policies and people practices.
On his part, the HR Director of Unilever, Mr Michael Otchere Duah, said, “being certified as a Top Employer speaks to an organisation’s commitment to a better world of work, demonstrated through humane people policies and excellent people practices. I am very excited about this recognition, which has affirmed our commitment to our people as a business”.
He said the company would continue to seek opportunities to improve its employee experience to make the business a place of pride for them to work as well as play and fulfill their purpose.
Meanwhile, Unilever’s sister companies in the West Africa Multi-Country Organisation (WA MCO), namely, Nigeria and Cote D’Ivoire, have also been adjudged number one Top Employers for 2022 in their respective markets.
