Longhorn Publishers Ends Wednesday As Top Gainer At The NSE

The top gainer of the day at the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) on Wednesday was Longhorn Publishers with 8.41 percent at the price of 4.90 shillings per share.

Sanlam Kenya was the top second gainer of the day with 7.69 percent at the price of 14.00 shillings per share followed by Standard Group with 6.90 percent at the price of 24.00 shillings per share.

CIC Insurance Group and I & M Holdings gained 5.75 and 2.99 percent at the price of 2.39 and 49.95 shillings per share respectively.

Olympia Capital was the top loser of the day with 10.00 percent at the price of 2.25 shillings per share followed by Nation Media Group who lost 4.05 percent at the price of 11.85 shillings per share.

Equity Group lost 3.79 percent at the price of 31.75 shillings per share while Flame Tree Group and Nairobi Business Ventures lost 3.33 percent each at the price of 1.45 and 0.58 shillings per share respectively.

Safaricom has maintained the top movers’ position since Monday. On Wednesday, the giant telecommunications company moved 21.41 million shares with a market capitalization of 1.08 trillion shillings.

Equity Group, despite being among the top losers moved 10.13 million shares with a market capitalization of 119.81 billion shillings.

KCB Group sold 3.59 million shares with a market capitalization of 110.06 billion shillings. Kenya Power and Lighting Company, and ABSA Bank Kenya sold 615,400 and 517,300 shares respectively with a market capitalization of 3.69 and 48.99 billion shillings respectively.
